Speak Up Arkansas: Episode 6

On February 8, 2017, at 5 p.m., Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families and KABF 88.3 aired the sixth episode of “Speak Up Arkansas,” which featured decARcerate.

 

Members from the group spoke about decARcerate’s mission and the current state of criminal justice policies in Arkansas. The program also discussed racial disparities in the Arkansas criminal justice system; mental illness in the justice system; and the Arkansas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty and their current work. Speakers included Morgan Holladay of Compassion Works for All; Furonda Brasfield of the Arkansas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty; Malik Saafir of the Janus Institute for Justice; and Nancy Kahanak of Judicial Equality for Mental Illness (JEMI).
