decARcerate is a grassroots coalition working to end mass incarceration in Arkansas through education, smart legislation, and community action.
Utilizing data, research, storytelling, and artistic expression, decARcerate works to educate Arkansans through public events that center the stories and experiences of individuals who have personally experienced the Arkansas’ criminal justice system.
decARcerate maintains an ongoing commitment to identify and support criminal justice and prison reform legislation. We imagine a world in which all people are treated with dignity, equity, and justice, and demand it from our elected officials.
decARcerate does grassroots community organizing and advocacy work, mobilizing communities around the issues we collectively care about.. Through the work of our campaigns, we seek to create meaningful and systematic change.
decARcerate is demanding
that Arkansas eliminate solitary confinement, replacing the practice with program-rich communities that support safe, healthy rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
